The Story Behind Hangetic

About the designer, Simon, a nearly 50-year-old disabled man who turned a personal struggle into something bigger than myself. A few years back, I battled frustration whenever I tried to pull clothes from my wardrobe. My disability made it a chore—reaching up, tugging at hangers, watching shirts and pants slip off or tangle. I didn’t want to rely on my carer for something as basic as dressing myself, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. Weeks of scribbling on drawing pads later, Hangetic was born—a hanger designed to make life easier.

About The Designer

It started as a solution for me. I dreamed up a hanger with a hook that moves up and down so I could grab clothes without straining and a crossbar that splits open with magnets to snap shut, making pants a cinch to retrieve. But as I tinkered—endless sketches, tweaks, and late-night rethinking—I realised this wasn’t just for disabled folks like me. Hangetic could speed up anyone’s routine. Whether you’re rushing out the door or hate wrestling with a packed closet, this hanger’s a game-changer.

REVOLUTION OF THE CLOTHES HANGER

A friend put it best: “It’s the third revolution of the clothes hanger in over 100 years.” That stopped me cold. He was right—first came the wire hanger, then the padded ones, and now Hangetic. It’s not just a tool; it’s a leap forward. That comment lit a fire under me. I started chasing capital, determined to get this into the hands of anyone who could use it, disabled or not. I wanted to share the freedom it gave me, the way it turned a daily grind into something simple and quick.

So, this ends my write-up about the designer. Hangetic’s more than a product—it’s my story of grit and a bit of stubbornness. Nearly 50, with a body that doesn’t always cooperate, I’ve poured my heart into this. It’s for the carer-weary, the time-crunched, the closet-chaos—anyone who deserves a break. Raising funds hasn’t been easy, but every step brings me closer to reaching people who’ll find it as life-changing as I do. This hanger’s my way of saying: struggle doesn’t have to win. Hangetic is here to help, one wardrobe at a time.
